We stepped out to the Black History Funk ThrowBack Video Dance Party at the Double Nickel last night. What a great show! EQ was the host of the event and it was good venue for a mature crowd.
EQ (Eric Young) was awesome mastering funk rhythms on the bass playing along with DJ K-Style. Kenneth Bolds (Serious Licks) and his girl Diane, Sir Charles, Melvin and Liz and I was all over the dance floor. The videos played by DJ K-Style were very entertaining to watch as the song played. MsLovely got down on “I’m Going Down” & “Sweet Thang”, great songs from that era.
We sat VIP with Soul Legacy’s Nina Burnside and her crew. I ladies know how to have a good time with served up food and drinks. Alex Eventmasters was in the house. It’s always good to see him out supporting local artists.
It was good to run into some familiar faces, Rosa and Joe. All and all it was a great night out. Everyone had a good time!
