Missing Moon River
Oh my! How I miss going out to Moon River every Sunday afternoon! I got hooked on these Cats the summer of 2014. And what a great summer it was. Liz and I couldn’t wait to put on our summer fit, pack up our chairs and head out to hear the smooth sounds of Bob and the Chosen Few. ( Bob Jones – Keys, Duane Brown- Bass, Tim Baker -Guitar, E-Double – Drums and Sam Baca – Percussions!
That was back in 2014. They were hot then and their still hot! Some of the players have changed, (2016) now with Eric Everette on drums and Pancho Smalls on percussion, and they are still “tight”. These guys really groove when it comes to the Blues. Bob Jones on the keys and vocals can change your behavior pattern until it has become almost involuntary. Getting the crowd roaring and up on their feet with songs like Muddy Water and Down Home Blues. Tim Baker on guitar is still belting out Frankie Beverly tunes and has added some Bobby Womack to his collection.
These Cats are versatile. Playing for you a little funk, blues, jazz and some R&B at various venues through out Sacramento. River’s Edge & VFW Hall in W. Sacramento. Monty’s Lounge in Rancho Cordova, at new spot in Oak Park called Off Broadway Cafe at 35th & Broadway across from the Guild Theater, 1st & 3rd Fridays of the month and you can be entertained every Sunday afternoon for the “Sunday Soul Jam” at JB’s Lounge 5:30pm-8″30pm where they hold Open Mic and welcome all artists in the building to the stage. Although they each play with different artists, when they come together they bring it together!
If you need something to do on a Sunday afternoon, come check these Cats out! You will never be disappointed!
