Elks Lodge Friday 9.11.15

This was a night for birthdays! Both my girls Liz and Christine are celebrating birthdays. This is just one leg of our birthday month stops for Liz. We take the whole month to celebrate our birthdays every year.
The Elks Lodge had been around FOR EVER! This venue is a staple in the Oak Park neighborhood and is well known for being able to get your dance on. This is where I come to listen to some old school music and do some line dancing with my fellow line dancers and they do it every Friday night! I remember back in the day when my Mother came and partied in here! LOL! And here we are doing the same thing. That’s because the old schoolers love coming in here. You can see people you grew up with if your from Sacramento, their purple walls and elk head on the dance floor wall, you can best believe you will get the best drinks in town up in here. Sir Charles and Melvin join us and the party was on. The place was wall to wall and crowded around the dance floor as DJDubcee Cook was playing old school and throwing a little new school in there too! There’s something for everyone up in The Elks. Elks Brothers met & greet you at the door and the Daughters are always ready to serve up some of that Basa fish or BBQ plate. Yeah, this is the place when you just want to hang out with your people, eat and get your dance on! Whew! Always a good time in the hood!
