This was my first time to Oak Park Brewery. It sits right off Broadway in the Oak Park area of Sacramento, all up in the hood. Which is a good thing for live entertainment as South Sac needs a little more of it. It gives the people in the Oak Park community a place to have a little fun and relax without having to pay a cover charge. Jahari Sai and her quartet livened up the small corner of Broadway with the smooth sounds of music. One drummer (Tony Galioto), one bass player (Duane Brown) an acoustic (Jahari Sai) and electric guitar (Russell Brown) and the singing style of Jahari filled the building and the street as passerby’s stopped out front to give a listen. It was a warm autumn day and the patio and inside the brewery was busy. We came out to see Jahari and Duane Brown (bass player) as well and ran into some familiar faces and new friends. It was my first time meeting Jahari. She is a relaxed soul with good vibes and a welcoming spirit. She reminds me of a 70’s “love child” in her knit cap and jeans. Not only did she do a few neo-soul tunes, she entertained us with Prince and James Brown and pulled them off well.

They performed some Marvin Gaye, bossa nova, pop and jazz and the crowd was on the floor in this tiny place as she engaged with the audience along with her guitar. No hold back as the quartet played some of the funkiest songs from the 70’s.
Jahari Sai and her quartet can been seen second Saturday’s at Oak Park Brewery from 4pm – 6pm.
Come on down and enjoy many great in house brewed beers, good brunch, lunch or dinner and awesome music!
